Almost drown by art

Good morning {{first_name}} {{last_name}},
These images are a record of an event that happened to me on a mysterious uninhabited island near Raquenes (Finistère - Brittany), which is flooded by the sea at low tide twice a day in its connection with the mainland. If you are not careful or if you forget the time, you are stuck for the next 6 hours and this can also happen at nightfall so that you have to spend the night there.
One sunny day in the afternoon, I decided to visit the island to collect stones and shells that I use in my art. I carefully select these for a pattern , colour and shape. they should be able to form a collection: all round or oblong , white or sand coloured . Since the island is a real hill on a rock, you find beautiful stones that have been washed, polished and bleached by the sun for a long time. A deep gully between the hills forms the gateway to a special silent world with a view of the wide sea, but not of the headland.
Totally engrossed in my search, I pleasantly forgot about time and relied on a young couple sitting on a rock, staring at the sea, not far from me. I assumed that they would leave the island as soon as the water started its over-wash to reach the exit in time to walk back over rocks and sand the 800m long stretch to the beach. But although I am not very time conscious when doing highly concentrated work, I had the feeling that it was taking a long time. I packed my things and treasures in plastic bags and decided to return by the exit. Unfortunately too late. A large part of the sand ridges had disappeared, the water was rising at breakneck speed from two sides and the rocks looked strange with unrecognizable protrusions above the water. There was no time to think. I hoped on my memory to find the place I had gone through so many times, also under water. I kept my pockets above the water and hurried like John the Baptist through the Jordan River. I had no choice.
Nobody knew where I was. To be stuck here for another 6 hours as evening approached did not make sense to me. I had to get through. So I waded out. It was a difficult splash with sharp, cutting rock edges under water and heavy loads on each hand. The path did not seem as recognizable as I had hoped and only with the greatest difficulty did I reach the beach, where I sat down, exhausted, for a while. Then I started the journey back home.
No one was worried, they were unaware of my daring. But you could have drowned’ was the comment.
