Tuesday March 7 the Award is handed over to Gabriëlla Cleuren.

Artist Gabriella Cleuren from Sint-Niklaas is the winner of an annual global arts Award. Red Line Art Works has made this Award to Gabriella for her Series of over 50 paintings and a 120-page book.

Red Line Art Works is a global arts project and it recognises art about big global concerns (such as climate change, inequality, war, poverty, patriarchy, etc). Chris Greenwood (Curator for Red Line Art Works) said : ‘You can see art works from about 25 countries on our website and Gabriella’s brilliant paintings draw attention to the millions of victims of the (never-ending) ‘War on Terror’ and conflicts, for example in : Afghanistan, Israel-Palestine, Chechnya , Libya, Mali, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen.

He congratulated Gabriëlla : ‘Her paintings have been exhibited around Europe, they speak in all languages and say important things. We strongly recommend her high quality work to everyone.’

“Artists like myself who are committed to reflecting issues of Global concern in our work do not expect to win anything, so when we do it is a surprise and very welcome. It is a great honour to be recognised and I am proud to receive this award. Red Line Art Works is an important initiative at a time when our world faces big problems.” Gabriëlla said.

Hello, I want to thank you for coming today. My name is Chris Greenwood and I am the Founder of Red Line Art Works. We are based in Bath (U.K).
Red Line Art Works is a global arts project. Of course, art can be many different things - we love all of its variety and diversity. But Humanity faces big global issues today that no previous generations of artists have faced.
